It is cherished as family treasure, not for sale, symbolizing a way of life we aspire to. In this house, the space around it, the yard, is more important than the house itself. The plot of land it defines and gives meaning to. Its intention is to create a place for dwelling. Like a fulcrum, it is a place with all its forces and hidden surprises. It grapples with the question of how to accept the reality of a slow and never finished goal, the theme of transience, and ultimately, like everything, with death.
